My baby at 20 Months :)

Jonas turned 20 months on Friday - only 4 months until my baby is 2 years old - yikes! Here's an update of my little guy's life:

- Jonas is about 32 inches tall and I'm still not sure how much he weighs
- Clothing size: still 12-18 months - though most of his shirts are now 18M to fit over his belly and all of his pants are too big around the waist unless they have the adjustable waist. Size 5 shoes. (Same as last month)
- Favorite Food: Sill loves his bananas, apples, Cheerios for breakfast. Muffins, carrots, noodles, potatoes are some of his staples. Jonas has now discovered that he loves juice but thankfully he still loves his milk. He loves to eat all of his food when he is at daycare and even eats everything that they supply. At home, it is sometimes a different story.
- Favorite Book: Snoozers, 1,2,3 Goodnight Moon
- Favorite Toys: The ride-on car that we bought for $2 at a garage sale, Tonka trucks (which he sits on), remote control car, little people zoo, bubbles, fridge magnets, stuffed animals (bunny, elly, Tigger, puppy, kitty), screwdrivers & measuring tapes
- Favorite Activities: He loves being outside, playing at the park, riding his car, pretending to drive the van and our car, dancing, watching his Pixar movies (his favourite right now is 'Octopodi' ), reading
- Words: Jonas is still trying to copy everything that we say. Some of the things he says are: 'Mommy, I want a _____' (it is usually treat), no way, Let's go, night night
- Bedtime routine: Bedtime has been a bit later at 9pm. It's still the same routine: bath, brush teeth, PJs, read, snuggle time with mom and dad and then nighttime. Still loves his blue blanket. Nap-time: 2-3 hours. Same as last month
- Jonas also adores his grandpa. He calls him pop-pop and if he see things that are associated with grandpa (beer cans, tractors, phone, Rhino, trucks) he will point to them and say 'pop-pop'.

Some photos that I'm sharing with you:

Fall pictures (mid-September).

This was at Zech's birthday. Jonas really loves his baby cousin GG (he can even say 'baby GG'). He loved to give GG her soother and any toy that he thought was hers. And he absolutely loved holding Genesis and giving her kisses.

The 3 cousins - the best picture I could get during this weekend.

Our little lion sleeping on the ride home from a very busy weekend at the Gooches.

Measuring our new/used armoire to see if the computer will actually fit (& it does with a few modifications).

Talking on the phone (to pop-pop perhaps).

Riding his horse with all of his stuffed animals. Jonas got so uppet if one of them fell off!

Family photo. I had to bring a family photo to daycare and I realized that our last family photo was in Feb. when Jonas turned 1 - yikes.

Summertime Fun!

The 1st day of fall officially starts on Sept. 22 - yikes! August was a busy month, with the highlight being our vacation to Lake Kalamalka (Vernon, BC). The month in review:

Aug 16-22 - We stayed at Kekuli Bay Provincial Park on Kalamalka Lake. Cory's parents came along so we were fortunate enough to stay in their RV. Aunty Karen also came along and we met up with a few a my friends who were staying at a cabin on the lake too. I think we ended up going on the hottest week because I don't think there was a day below 30 above.

The view from our campground.

Playing in Aunty Karen's car - one of Jonas' obsessions.

Jonas' first boat ride - he looks a bit scared. Later he enjoyed jumping into the lake from the back of the boat (of course with our assistance).

Jonas enjoyed camping especially because he was able to stay outside for the full day.

One sleepy bear.

Jonas and Grandma.

Other summertime activities included:
Playtime at the parked.

Splashing in the puddles.

Running around at Grandma & Grandpa Lee's

Driving the tractor at Grandma H's.

September 9th rolled around and Jonas turned 19 months! We are always amazed at what our boy can do and what he knows!
Jonas at 19 months:

- Wt. and Ht., yet to be measured
- Clothing size: still 12-18 months - though most of his shirts are now 18M to fit over his belly and all of his pants are too big around the waist unless they have the adjustable waist. Size 5 shoes.
- Favorite Food: Sill loves his bananas, apples, Cheerios for breakfast. Muffins, noodles, cheese, carrots, beets, crackers. MILK. His favourite snack/treat are tortilla chips.
- Favorite Book: Snuggle Puppy and Snoozers
- Favorite Toys: The ride-on car that we bought for $2 at a garage sale, Tonka trucks (which he sits on), Thomas the Train, pots & pans, stuffed animals (bunny, elly, Tigger, puppy)
- Favorite Activities: He loves being outside, playing at the park, riding his car, pretending to drive the van and our car, dancing, watching his Pixar movies (his favourite right now is 'One Man Band' ), reading
- Words: It has been amazing to hear the progress with Jonas' vocabulary. He is now starting to put sentences together. Today he said 'Mommy, are you coming?' He tends to copy whatever words we tell him to say.
- Bedtime routine: Bedtime has been a bit later at 9pm. It's still the same routine: bath, brush teeth, PJs, read, snuggle time with mom and dad and then nighttime. Still loves his blue blanket. Nap-time: 2-3 hours

The hardest thing now is to get him to sit still so I can take photos!

Toddler Already!?

So my baby Jonas turned 1.5 years on Sunday and according to Today's Parent, my baby is a toddler! How could that be! I thought it would be fitting to update the life of my 1.5 year old boy!

-Height and Weight: Still have to measure, but I'm guessing he is 23lbs. still
-Clothing Size: 12-18M clothing and size 5 shoes
-Favorite Foods: noodles, muffins, Cheerios, apples, bananas, cheese, ice-cream (Dibs), milk
-Favorite Books: Snuggle Puppy, Peek-a-Boo
-Favorite Toys/Activities: Jonas loves to go outside; he loves to splash in his pool, blow bubbles, pick up rocks, chase cats, play in his playhouse, throw balls, climb and ride in his wagon, shovel dirt in mom's flower bed, run, run, run. When Jonas is inside the house he loves to: play with his cars & train, build with his MEGA Blocks, stack his wooden blocks, play with mom's measuring cups, play with his magnetic cars and animals, dance and can rock out (he does the head bop)
-Some of his many words that he can say include: ball, bubbles, boo, bye-bye, hi, bus, bike, plane, keys, cheese, apple, please, all gone, all done, more, again, bite, puppy, dog, bunny, no, mommy, daddy, papa, aunty, baby, baby GG, hat
-Jonas' bedtime is 8 pm and lately he has been sleeping through the night until 7:30 am. He sleeps with his favorite blue blanket (thank goodness we have 3 of them) and with many of his stuffed animals (puppy, bunny, Tigger, moose, monkey). He enjoys reading and snuggling with mom and dad before bedtime.
-Finally Jonas likes to brush his teeth and he likes doing it all by himself (& then he tries to brush mom's teeth too)!
-Jonas likes to climb in his high chair all by himself and demands dinner.
-He likes when mom gives him airplane rides and bumps.
-He eagerly watches through the window for daddy to get home and when he sees Cory, he gets all excited and does this little dance and yells hi daddy, hi daddy!
-He is still a mama's boy!
-Lately he cries when I take him to daycare but as soon as I'm gone, he his playing, eating and content.
-He takes 2-3 hour naps. Naps are in the big bed.
-Every morning he asks for daddy and I have to tell him 'daddy is at work, bringing home the bacon.'
-He enjoys watching the Pixar Mini Movies especially on car rides. His favorite is 'The Birds'

Anyway, here is some highlights of Sunday:

After sleeping 12 hours Saturday night (he slept in until 9am), Jonas took a 2.5 hour nap in the big bed! This was after we ate breakfast, played outside in the rain and then ate lunch.

After nap-time we headed outside again. Jonas likes to ride on his car - he even pushes with his legs to move forward. This car was $2 at a garage sale and it has been worth every penny!

Riding away from mommy!

Mommy trying to take 'nice' pictures of her big boy but Jonas became distracted by a plane.

This boy just won't sit still.

Finally a nice picture of my handsome boy. This was just before he ran off to play with his toys!

Playing in his 'Princess House'. Yes it is kind of girly but I picked this house up used for a good price and Jonas doesn't really care. Jonas enjoyed throwing balls in and out of his house.

Icing his sore cheek. When we were putting his toys away in the garage, Jonas fell and scraped his cheek on the curb! I think it could have turned out worse, so thank goodness he is ok!

Relaxing in his favorite chair before bedtime!

Canada Day!

I started this post the weekend after Canada Day and finally I finished it!

Canada Day was a busy one this year, even though it was on a Wednesday! We went to the Legislature for pancake breakfast with friends, then we spent the afternoon with the Gooches at Millwoods park and then a BBQ at our place later. We didn't make it out to the fireworks but I did catch some of the Millwoods ones from my bedroom window. I should have taken advantage of the mid-week day off and took a super long weekend but many of my other co-workers did and so I was the sucker who had to work. Though Cory got the Thursday and Friday off so it was the boys having fun at home!

Anyway, just thought I would post some pictures of our Canada Fun!

Jonas and Trevor after pancake breakfast.

Zech at the petting zoo.

Jonas at home playing in his wagon.

3 precious kids! This photo was so hard to take because the boys did not want to sit still!

194 days until...

CHRISTMAS!! Haha, I was just thinking that wow, June is a half over and so is the year 2009! And again I can't keep this crazy blog updated.

Well, I don't even know where to begin - I can't even remember half the stuff that went on in end of April/May...let's see

Health-wise: Again the household has been suffering from cold after cold. Jonas even had antibiotics to take for an ear infection and right now he has this crazy rash, which the doctor says is a reaction from his antibiotics (which he finished a week ago so I don't get it, but then again I'm no doctor). And to make matters worse, Jonas is getting his 2 bottom eye teeth (yep both at the same time) so he has been cranky!

Fitness-wise: I've been enjoying outdoor soccer and have even managed to score a few goals. Though I wish that I would have learned to play soccer when I was young. I am running quite frequently (but still not enough)! My next 'race' is a 10K run to Uncover the Cure on June 20th. Donate to the cause at: http://ed09.uncoverthecure.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ed09_homepage

On the Home-Front: I think ever since we bought our little townhouse, we've been doing work to it. This past month or so, we put in new laminate flooring on the main floor and all new windows were installed. The place is starting to feel more comfortable and it is a bit more up-to-date. We thought about upgrading to a house, being that the interest rates are so low but right now we just can't make the move.

Work Life: My job is going well - summer and fall are always busy with construction projects. As for Cory he is switching jobs on Monday. He will be working at Scottsford (Ft. Sask). which sucks cause he has to leave so damn early and then he gets home so late, but I guess it is not Ft. Mac!

What's new: The most exciting news over the last month or so is the addition of baby Genesis Faith to the Gooch family. My baby neice is so cute! Big brother Zech seems to be handling his new role rather well!
Sweet Baby Genesis, born June 5 @ 1:45pm, 9lbs. 9oz, 21.75 inches long. She is so gorgeous!
Jonas didn't seem to notice his new cousin when he first met her. Then the 2nd day he saw her and I was holding her, Jonas started whining and wanted me to hold him (jealous perhaps)!

And my baby boy has sure grown - I'm amazed as to how much they do grow in such little time!
Putting the house back together after getting the new flooring. Jonas thought it was pretty neat to be able to go behind the entertainment unit!

A visit with grandma, great grandma and great grandpa. This was a couple days before my grandpa passed away. Jonas didn't get a picture with great grandpa because he was sleeping and only woke briefly to acknowledge that we were there. I think it was grandpa's goodbye!

This was when Jonas loved baths and drinking the water - now it is a struggle to get him in the bath (so we've been showering him lately).

A cute bedtime picture - I love his facial expression!

Visting Cory's family. These are all of Cory's Grandma Hazel's great grandkids (so Jonas' 2nd cousins, I think). Jaycee holding Ryker, William (standing), and then Riley and Jonas in the wagon.

This is where we put Jonas when he is bad - in the dog cage!! Haha! Actually, we were camping at High River (while visiting Cory's family) and Jonas loved crawling in Koba's dog cage so of course I took the opportunity to take a picture!

Calgary Zoo with dad!

Calgary Zoo with mom. The zoo is amazing but we were only there for about 2.5 hours and then Jonas needed to eat and sleep!

Until next time....cheers!

I'm Alive!

It's been 2.5 months since I've updated this thing - where have I been, at work! I think we've all adjusted rather well to me going back to work and Jonas going to daycare. At first it was hard, especially when Jonas would cry every time I left him at the daycare. Now sometimes I cry (inside) cause Jonas sometimes doesn't want to come home from daycare! At least I know that he feels comfortable there! Anyway, lots has been going on in the last couple of months. Spring is here, yippee! At 14 months Jonas can do many things and likes certain things such as:
- He can walk, or shall I say run (every since his bday)
- His eye teeth have finally broken through (after a good month of movement), so now he has 14 teeth!
- He says a variety of words (mommy, no, daddy, banana ('nana'), apple...to name a few)
- Lately he has been showing off his bellybutton
- He loves his new wagon and he is happy just to sit in it
- He has his first girlfriend - Ava from daycare. They even hugged and kissed each other!
- He loves puppy dogs, real or stuffed
- He loves playing with my pots and pans
- He has been sleeping through the night on the most part (8 pm-6 am)
- Favorite foods: muffins, bananas, apples, cottage cheese & bread
- Clothing size: Still some 9-12 month, but mostly 12-18 month (though his pants fall down)

I'm sure there is alot more but that is all I can think of right now...I'll end with a few photos!

Jonas' 1 year photo ( I love this red couch). This photo was taken by my friend Leanne.

Family photo!

My attempt at Jonas' 1 year photo (I think this was the only photo he was sitting still in)

1st haircut at Beaners! Cool chair!

Mad at mommy cause I wouldn't let him play with the camera and I kept taking pictures of him!

One of Jonas' favorite things - reading!
