Emmett @ 5 months!

- Weighs about 17 lbs. 11 oz. (on Dec. 6)
- Wears mostly 6-12M clothing
- Size 3 Pampers
- His blonde hair is growing in so nicely - and his mullet is almost gone!
- Cut 2 teeth, his bottom 2 front teeth (in mid-Nov.)
- Bedtime routine consists of: feeding, bum change, lotion, pjs and then reading. He falls asleep listening and watching his musical fish tank. Since teething, he hasn't been sleeping as well - waking up a couple times a night.
- Still likes the soother at bedtime but loves loves his thumb.
- Still likes the big bath with big brother Jonas (started this a couple of weeks ago - he sits in his bath chair). He likes grabbing the bath toys. He also likes when hold him out of his bath chair & then he can kick!
- Is ticklish - now especially under his chin.
- Still loves to watch what Jonas is doing & laughs at his big brother!
- Loves to see where mommy is and cries when I leave the room! Loves seeing his daddy too and has been crying when he leaves too!
- He still likes to still in the bumbo at the dinner table but will do the straight back to get out of it.
- Likes the exersaucer & the jolly jumper. Now gets upset if he can't reach a toy.
- Has been feeding every 4 hours or so. He tried rice cereal but didn't seem ready for it yet.

I haven't posted anything forever (I'm neglecting Emmett's updates too) but I couldn't resist posting some pictures of a photo shoot that Cory's mom wanted of the 3 cousins. Anyway, here are a few pictures - it was hard to pick which ones because all of them were wonderful!

Baby Emmett - 4 months!

I'm a bit late on this one but here is the Emmett update!

- Weighs about 17 lbs. 3 oz. (on Nov.8)
- Wears mostly 3-6 month clothing and now some 6-12M clothing
- Size 3 Pampers
- Has a mullet! Still has his long newborn hair at the back - so cute!
- We moved him into his crib in his own room at the beginning of October. He still has been sleeping through the night (about 10pm to 8am). This past week he did wake up in the middle of the night a couple of nights in a row!
- Bedtime routine consists of: feeding, bum change, lotion, pjs and then reading. He falls asleep listening and watching his musical fish tank.
- Likes the soother at bedtime but loves loves his thumb.
- Now bathes in the big bath with big brother Jonas (started this a couple of weeks ago - he sits in his bath chair). He likes grabbing the bath toys.
- Is ticklish especially on his sides and back.
- Still loves to watch what Jonas is doing & laughs at his big brother!
- Loves to see where mommy is and cries when I leave the room! Loves seeing his daddy too and has been crying when he leaves too!
- Has been drooling like crazy and his cheeks have been so rosy (teething but I can't feel any teeth yet). Blows bubbles too!
- Still likes sitting in the bumbo while we eat dinner.
- Likes the exersaucer & playing with all of the toys on it.
- Found his feet & will put them in his mouth!
- Has been feeding every 4 hours or so.
- He is a very content and happy baby! Lately he has been getting a bit upset in the evening because of his teeth!

Giving Thanks!

On January 31, 1957, the Canadian Parliament proclaimed:

“A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed – to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October."

Up until then, Thanksgiving was mainly celebrated in November. Though throughout history, the date of Thanksgiving did change to celebrate various events in Canada (the ending of war for example). With Thanksgiving a week or so behind us, it is a time to reflect on the many things that I am thankful for in my life.

I am thankful for:

1. My wonderful family! Even though it has been a struggle with my 'terrible two' year old and with Cory working long hours, I feel so blessed to have my family!

2. My wonderful sister and her family! Though we live a few hours away (ok, try 10), it is always wonderful to catch up with them on the phone and on Skype.

3. Mom and Bill. We had a great visit with them at the farm on the Friday before Thanksgiving Monday. Jonas always likes going out to the farm to see all of the tractors, farm equipment, cats and dogs.

4. The Lee family. Once again Sharon made a wonderful Turkey dinner. Thanksgiving was a bit quieter this year since two of Cory's sisters were out of town. We had a great visit!

5. Good friends - new and old!

6. Good health - well on the most part. Cory is sick right now and Jonas & I are trying to fight off the cold.

7. Shelter, food and water. We are loving are new house and I am so grateful we have the necessities to live.

Oh, there is so much more to list...but I will leave you with a few pictures instead...

My Boys! (Jonas being camera-hating)

My baby boy Emmett (with a tear in my eye because I feel like he is no longer my baby already and he is only 3 months)! I took this picture myself; arm-length away deal so no tripod and I really love it!

3 months already!

Emmett is 3 months old and already quite the character. Here's the update:

- Weighs about 15 lbs. 3 oz. (this was a couple of weeks ago at the health centre - 95th percentile though)
- About 24 inches long (75th percentile)
- Head is about 41 inches circumference (40th percentile - so we say we have a big baby with a small head)!
- Wears mostly 3-6 month clothing but sometimes I squeeze him into some 0-3 month clothing
- Size 3 Pampers
- He has been losing his hair but growing it too! It looks like it is coming in blond!
- Still sleeps through the night - yippee! His last feeding is at about 9:30-10pm and then he usually sleeps until 7ish. Sometimes he wakes up about 5ish. He still sleeps in our room in the travel crib bassinet.
- Gets the hiccups less often now.
- Still dislikes the soother but loves his thumb.
- Likes his baths & has now started to kick and splash!
- Has started cooing, laughing and smiling lots!
- Cries when he is really hungry, really poopy and just before he falls asleep.
- Also cries when mommy is upset at Jonas (when it involves yelling)
- He does like to look around a lot more now and he especially likes to look at Jonas.
- Is awake alot more during the day - usually for a couple hours in the morning, afternoon and evening.
- Likes his swing and will fall asleep in it.
- Like the carseat but will whine abit when we first put him in it but then falls asleep in the car.
- Likes sitting in the bumbo at the dinner table and watching us eat.
- Likes the exersaucer at the Beaumont indoor playground (I still have to set ours up)
- Can move himself by kicking his legs so he moves himself in circles or goes forward.
