I keep meaning to write down some of the things Jonas says because a conversation with a 2.6 year old is rather entertaining! Here are a few things that I can recall.
Jonas (to Emmett): Hi, I'm Jonas.
Emmett: 'smiles'
Jonas (as he grabs Emmett's arm, leg, ect.): This is your big arm, this is your big leg. I love you!
Jonas (as he sees a dead fly on the floor): Mommy, there is a fly on the floor.
Mommy: Oh, where?
Jonas: There. Mommy, you have to vacuum it up.
Mom: Yes, yes I do. Thanks!
As we are driving down the road, Jonas points out every big truck, grader, excavator, bobcat, ect. that he sees:
Jonas: There's a bobcat, there's another bobcat. 2 bobcats!
Mommy: Where? (cause half the time I don't see them and I have to make sure that he is getting his equipment right).
Jonas: Over there. The bobcat dumps the garbage (sometimes he says dirt now too).
Jonas (to Bill): Your truck is dirty!
Bill: Yes, it is.
Jonas: You have to wash it!
Bill: Well, grandma should wash it because it is dirty from her road.
Jonas: Oh, ok!
Jonas (to Pop-Pop): I have a tractor just like you.
Pop-Pop: My tractor is broken.
Jonas: You have to fix it?
Pop-Pop: Yes.
Jonas: I will help you fix it.
Pop-Pop: Ok, sure.
Jonas: With a screw driver?
I'm ashamed to say that Jonas knows some not so nice words. I guess I have to be more aware of what I say around him (or what I say when I'm yelling at the bad drivers or when something goes wrong)
Jonas' bad words: shut-up, stupid, damn it
That's all I can think of at the moment. Now onto the update of my big boy's life as a 2.6 year old!
• Ht: 35 inches
• Wt: 27 lbs. (we finally bought a scale & this is actually his weight)
• Clothing: mostly size 2 still, some size 3. Shoes: size 6 or 7
• No more pampers! yippee but size 2 pull-ups and size 2 underwear!
• Favourite Movie: Loves watching 'The Incredibles', 'Monsters Inc.', 'Toy Story 3'
• Favourite TV show: Like 'Mickey Mouse' and 'Little Einstein'
• Favourite Book: Still the Tonka truck books, Touch & Feel 'Honk Honk' book, 'Casper the Caterpillar' and 'Find the Baby Animal's Mom' puzzle book.
• Favourite toys: He loves being outside! He loves going to the park and quite often he brings his loader and dump truck with him and fills them up with rocks. He is still obsessed with all of his machines (trucks, loaders, Mack truck etc.). He loves his Buzz Lightyear and Woody figurines and anything Toy Story!
• Favourite Food: He still likes his bananas, apples, noodles, mush, carrots, cucumbers, cheese, and sometimes meat (done on the BBQ). He also likes eating granola and trail mix.
• Other:
o I stayed home this past week to concentrate on potty training Jonas and it worked! He has been diaper free for 1 week and he has had only a few accidents! He has been using the potty for a while but not all the time. So finally we told him that there were no more diaper left so he had to wear his underwear. We also bribed him with small die-cast toys and his big reward for being diaper free for a week was a big Mack mixer truck! Cory and I are so happy and proud of him!
o Bedtime Routine: We still have to work on the bedtime but our routine is washroom, brush teeth, read books ( and he always tries to squeeze in 1 more book), snuggles with mommy. He falls asleep quite quickly (unless he has a nap) but now we have to work on getting a consistent bedtime or earlier bedtime (it is usually 10-10:30)
o We took a trip to Jurassic Forest by Gibbons with Grandma Lee, Aunty Karen, Aunty Kristy and Beckett. Jonas loved looking at all of the dinosaurs!
o We also went to my workplace to show my co-workers Emmett. We then spent a good hour (well maybe it was only 30 min. but it seemed like a long time) looking at the dump trucks, loaders and grapples on the tip floor of the Integrated Processing and Transfer Facility. Of course Jonas was in his glory!
o This past month, Jonas stayed with Grandma Lee and Pop-Pop for 2 nights. He loves going out there and he seems to sleep ok at night too (though grandma sleeps in his bed so he doesn't gets scared). While Jonas was out there, I decided to paint his bedroom - bright red and blue. It took more coats of paint than I thought (& more hours of labour) but it is done now and so next we are going to put up 'Cars' themed stickers! Jonas really likes his newly painted room!
Anyway, here are some pictures I'm sharing with you (fewer pictures this time since our camera broke and Jonas hasn't wanted me to take his picture too)!:
